Eventide's Beatitude
The fading memory rose from wood splinters
slicing as red paper cuts across his shaded heart
she placed fresh wheat barley inside her A-loft
next to the linseed oil cans and those old rusty bolts
she painted her memories upon tender canvas
her sacred papers are rolled with wax candles
the bees sealed her heart with nectarous thoughts...
She cremated his memories years ago,
just past the mar of yesteryear
dancing with silos and lepidopteran wings...
...she followed the barn swallow chasing butterflies;
just past the sandstones where wild asparagus grows.
...ditches and ravines are treasures of life's pureness.
She seen the tractor tires where secrets cultivate
and the fields are plowed with love's unending bounty.
...as the wind whispers for her to check the bee hives,
she embraces intimately the fragrance of eventide's beatitude.
