REVIEW: Poetess Victoria L McColley’s EVOLUTION OF SOUL-In Motion offers first a statement of the writer’s belief that ‘your inward journey to peace can be found inside the harmony of your heart ensouling the carriage of your soul’s voice. Rhymester McColley’s EVOLUTION OF SOUL-In Motion, as was her Orchards of Deliverance The Descrying Soul of Love, is a compilation of at times; fragile, airy, unsullied, verse set down by a versifier having a caring heart and kindhearted voice. Across some 347+ pages poet McColley provides passage upon passage of delicate to forceful, ethereal to hearty, subtle to robust works; each centered in ensouling emotional evolution meant to create a love offering of emotive verse meant to stimulate devout fruition through the sentiment of affection's bequests embracing life. I found the continuum of canto set down by lyricist McColley to be affectionate, filled with an unassuming eminence as well as overflowing with la joie de vivre. The use of a wide range of floral offerings including daisies, star flower, roses, lilies and even morning glory as imagery linking the selection of folio filled with lilting verse furthers the feelings of a calm spirit and reflection. I like that McColley utilizes the gentleness of black and white photos; they provide a light feel while colors might be too intense in their brightness. Black & white photography showcasing personal views in addition to meaningful quotes regarding love's spectacular hold contained by the components of life is put to effective use. I enjoyed reading EVOLUTION OF SOUL-In Motion. McColley is a capable, artistic versifier who sets down stanzas gracefully from a motivated heart to transport the reader toward thinking of existence, empathy and fondness.
