Philistine’s Leather
Tied to his mortuary sin
Caskets bury deeper (an existence)
Those secrets under wood piles
Where leaves grow boundaries…
Silent stone markers can undermine everything-
Knowing identifiable graves are shifting earth
inside the foresting pathways
where you stole her essence to breath
beneath secrets speaking to season’s realm.
The living fences from her to you are everlasting.
Eternality knows many deaths;
Bending over pools of redemption…
Are you free from tormenting thoughts;
Or do you curse your God with slander?
Self righteousness knows blamelessness.
As you kneel to alters velvet cushions,
holding false identities under chartreuse Cyprus thorns.
No matter the blasphemy of those forked tongues,
the soul of life remains…all baring in her nectar.
Pine cones are sticky to the sole of his philistine’s leather.
…And life’s essential roots are prophetically deep
in her spirit…still alive
haunting his emotions
watching him suffer…asking why…
